The multi-year, multi-stage amphitheater project began in 2024 and continues to move forward. We have spent a significant amount of time in the planning and development stage this year. 2024 ended with surveying and site evaluations for a location on the east side of the mound, away from the existing location, near the East Tower. A number of plans have been drawn up and need finalizing.
The existing amphitheater will continue hosting the wildly popular Music on the Mound in 2026, as the new site will be under construction. The old amphitheater will be demolished once the new amphitheater’s construction is completed.
Funding for the new amphitheater is partially funded by the Knowles-Nelson Grant. You can find more information about this grant on the Friends of Wisconsin State Parks website.
